Level of difficulty:
Challenging / Very challenging
Starting in Puy Saint Vincent, this is a six-stage tour over some of the most famous and lesser known cols in the French and Italian Alps such as Agnel (remember the crash of Stefan Kruijswijk descending this side of the Agnel and losing the Giro d’Italia?), Sampeyre, Fauniera, Lombarde, Bonette, Cayolle and Izoard, over the border into the Alps of Provence. You will also ride over part of the Granfondo Fausto Coppi track to the Passo Fauniera – a very remote place with very little traffic and a lot of marmots, and you may encounter some snow as the top approaches. Throughout the rides you will be fully supported as you cover about 60 miles (100km) a day, with adjustments being able for riders of differing abilities. After your rewarding rides, you'll stay at small campsites with stunning views over the mountains and lakes and can reflect on the day over dinner as you prepare for the next day's challenges. The price of this tour includes campsite fees, support, GPX files, luggage transport, bars, powder and a lunch break, whilst a contribution of €25 per day ensures you get fuelled up with a good breakfast and dinner.
