Mellionnec Flower Farm is a working organic farm that specialises in dried flowers. They also always have plenty of seasonal home grown fruit and vegetables for guests to pick for their own use. Camping and cabins are rustic but clean and super eco-friendly – there are compost toilets and open-air solar showers. This is a wonderful back-to-basics place to stay surrounded by beautiful relaxing countrside. There are official cycle routes within 500m of the site (including the EuroVelo 1 Atlantic Coast route, which runs concurrently with the Nantes Brest canal is 2km away). Guests can be dropped off and colletced at the canal for a small fee of €2.50. There is plenty of Gothic architecture and even a Roman Quarry within 3km to visit. The Laur river wanders through the bottom fields and makes good bird watching. If you are quiet, you can see the deer in the fields at night and sleep to the sound of the owls calling. For bat lovers there's also a resident bat population in one of our barns. Local bar, pizzeria and boulangerie are within 300m of the campsite. Plouray lake is 5km away as well as the canal for keen fishermen and women – and the guys have fishing equipment for hire. You can also make flower garlands or hydrosols – and you can't say that about many places.
