Five years after it was published, France en Velo: The Ultimate Cycle Journey from Channel to Med remains an ideal route planner
This is an oldie but a goodie.
France en Velo: The Ultimate Cycle Journey from Channel to Med - St Malo to Nice by John Walsh and Hannah Reynolds has done the work for you in planning a north-south bike route in France.
The book was originally published in 2014 but it remains a useful route-planner for cyclists looking for inspiration for a north-south cycle tour of France.
It combines travel writing style with guidebook info (where to stay, what to see etc) as it retraces the authors' journey across the country.
The book was one of the first titles released by independent publishers Wild Thing Publishing, which has since released other cycling titles, including:
- Bikepacking: Mountain Bike Camping Adventures on the Wild Trails of Britain
- Lost Lanes: 36 Glorious Bike Rides in Southern England
- Lost Lanes West Country: 36 Glorious bike rides in Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire
- Lost Lanes Wales: 36 Glorious Bike Rides in Wales and the Borders
