This is one of those 'get in quickly' offers - here's a beach house for 10 people that's perfect for watching the first THREE stages of the 2016 Tour de France as it makes its way around the Manche department of Normandy.
If you are interested in renting Dominic's house for 2016 Tour de France week in Normandy, then call him on +44 (0)7770 268 294. If you prefer email, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll put you in touch.
I received an email recently from Dominic, who's keen to share his part of Normandy with cyclists during next year's Tour de France.
"Hi Lyn," he writes. "I am writing to you on the off chance that any readers of your site might be interested in renting a beautiful large house located at the very centre of stages 1-3 in next year's Tour de France. The house is not usually for rent (we usually only use it ourselves or loan it out to friends and family), but it would make an ideal base for cyclists wanting to watch the Tour. There is lots of room for bikes, etc, and it would be an ideal base for anyone wanting to see the Tour as it passes through Normandy."
The house is in Barneville-Carteret (map here), so it's well placed for the following stages:
- Stage 1: Mont-Saint-Michel to Utah Beach, Saturday, July 2
- Stage 2: Saint-Lô to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, Sunday, July 3
- Stage 3: Granville to Angers, Monday, July 4
The house sleeps 10 and, as you can see from the photos, it's a lovingly decorated and maintained bolthole that's ON THE BEACH and has beautiful sea views to match.
It is ideal for groups – in particular mixed groups of families and friends with some cyclists and some non-cyclists as there's plenty else to do locally if you're not out on your bike.
- has the beach right in front
- is within easy reach of the D-Day beaches and Bayeax
- has safe and secure storage for upto 8 bikes
- has a golf course and horse riding nearby
- has boat hire nearby for excursions out to Jersey or the Ecrehou Islands.
The house costs €2400 for exclusive use for the entire Tour de France week, June 30 to July 6 (though exact dates can be negotiated).
So for 10 people, that's around €40 per person per night for a 6-night stay. (Dominic says that for a small surcharge per person, he can prepare hearty breakfasts to save you cooking).
The house is not being offered through any mainstream booking sites at the moment – just to Freewheeling France readers.
