Le Tour: Race Log
by Claire Beaumont and Neil Stevens
(Laurence King Publishing)
With the Tour de France just around the corner, Le Tour: Race Log is a whimsical way to get into the spirit of the great race. Offering the enthusiast the chance to record the action of each stage in detail – start town, finish town, weather, sprints ... there’s even the opportunity to note down crashes – this beautifully presented bright yellow pocket book is a delight.
In a perfect combination of colourful maps and wonderful illustrations, it offers more than just a notebook for jotting down personal observations. Interspersed between stages, small bites of background to this great sporting spectacle provide insight and, for cycling newcomers, a wonderful introduction to some of the quirkier aspects of the race. Even for the more established fan, Le Tour Race Log is guaranteed to raise a smile.
