If you can get past the name – which I don't think has any origins in English! – Camping Bimbo in Biscarosse is well placed on the Atlantic Coast for rides down the EuroVelo 1 La Vélodyssée bike route. It's a 4-star campsite with both covered pool and outdoor pools + paddling pool, water games and slides for the young at heart. Situated 600m from the lake, it provides a refreshing and comfortable stop. Tent pitches, as well as mobile homes, chalets and wooden cabins for hire. Gets busy in summer – may be minimum night stay, depending on the season. Part of a network of independently run sites.
