Level of difficulty:
Combine bikes with a boat to create a quintessential and peaceful cycling experience. Join your floating hotel from Castets-en-Dorthe on the Garonne river, starting point of the famous Canal du Midi, and sail to Libourne via Pauillac and Bourg-sur-Gironde, without forgetting a stopover in the heart of Bordeaux. The tour includes a daily sojourn by bike to cycle the terroirs of the Bordeaux vineyards. The Medoc, Sauternes, Loupiac and the Côtes de Bourg are all on the route, along with UNESCO-listed Saint-Emilion. At the end of each day, enjoy relaxing on your boat and sailing on the Garonne, the Dordogne or the estuary of the Gironde. There is a daily briefing by an on-board guide to help you make the most of the cycling, plus you'll receive a road book and maps. Dine on board every night, relax in the bar or simply take in the views as the sun sets over the river. Starting price includes 7 nights' B&B twin cabin accommodation, evening meals, daily picnic for your panniers, welcome and farewell cocktails, wifi, and help with any mechanical problems. Rental bikes available for a surcharge. This self-guided holiday is offered by Evazio, an English-speaking French company based in Bordeaux.
