All content on Freewheeling France is copyrighted to Freewheeling France unless otherwise stated. We don't mind people linking to our content to share information as long as full credit and links are provided back to us. However we forbid it being copied and pasted without consent. A lot of hard work (and time) goes into collating our information to help make cycling in France easier and more enjoyable. If you'd like to use or share our information on your website, then please ask. Any breaches of copyright can be pursued under French and European intellectual property laws.

Content can be downloaded and printed for personal reference, or for use planning your cycle tour of France.

The images on the site are either the property of Freewheeling France and/or our regular contributors or partners, or sourced from Creative Commons or other copyrighted material. We have provided links to and bylines for all images wherever possible; please let us know if something is inappropriately credited or linked and we will fix it as soon as we can. Users are asked to respect the copyright permissions of each image, as stipulated on the images via the links provided.

Advertiser Terms and Conditions (en français)

1.1 Following receipt of payment and acceptable text information, the Advertisement will commence being displayed on the FREEWHEELING FRANCE website within a reasonable amount of time and will continue to be displayed for however many days agreed on booking (confirmed by email) of the duration of the contract from that day forward. The date at which the Advertisement is first displayed shall also be known as the effective start date of this Agreement.

1.2  Advertisements must not contravene French laws relating to Trade Descriptions, Sex Discrimination, Privacy, Copyright, or any laws promoting a proper and fair trading environment and internet user experience.  

1.3 FREEWHEELING FRANCE will not accept advertising from companies that produce, sell or specifically advertise pornographic products or services or any other advertising which may be considered inappropriate in the judgment of FREEWHEELING FRANCE. FREEWHEELING FRANCE reserves the right to define “inappropriate” in this context.

1.4 Upon payment, advertisers accept they are purchasing advertising on the FREEWHEELING FRANCE website. Advertisements will only be uploaded after payment has been received and cleared through the FREEWHEELING FRANCE bank or receiving agent.

1.5 The content of the Advertisement is per the format confirmed in writing at the time of Advertisement acceptance.

1.6 FREEWHEELING FRANCE reserves the right to republish any advertisement in electronic or printed format without seeking the Advertiser’s permission as part of its marketing and promotion of the website and its Advertisers. This includes Social Media. 

1.7 Payments due from the Advertiser must be paid in full before Advertisements are uploaded to FREEWHEELING FRANCE. All payment requests will be made via emailed invoice.

1.8 All Advertisements will run for 12 months from the date of Advertisement upload, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any discounts or promotional rates apply to this period only.

1.9 Payments for Advertising are non-refundable within the 12-month Advertising period unless agreed in writing with FREEWHEELING FRANCE. 

2.0 Advertising rates and terms are subject to revision and FREEWHEELING FRANCE reserves the right to vary terms and conditions.

2.1 Advertisements procured by cold calling are subject to 7 working day cooling off period with full money back guarantee from the date of the placement of the order. Cancellation of the order must be received by email. The cooling off period does not apply to adertisers who take an Advertisement in conjunction with advertising promotions on FREEWHEELING FRANCE or other websites or where Advertisers approach FREEWHEELING FRANCE for advertising.

2.2 The Advertiser is solely responsible for any legal liability arising out of or relating to (1) the Advertisement, and/or (2) any material to which users can link to through its Advertisement.

2.3 The Advertiser is responsible for Advertisement content and Links, if applicable, and guarantees that the use, reproduction, distribution, or transmission of the Advertisement will not violate any criminal laws or any rights of any third parties, including, but not limited to copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, music, image, or other proprietary or property right, false advertising, unfair competition, defamation, invasion of privacy or rights of celebrity, violation of any anti-discrimination law or regulation, or any other right of any person or entity. FREEWHEELING FRANCE is not liable for any loss, damages, claims, or causes of action, including legal fees and expenses that may be incurred by FREEWHEELING FRANCE arising out of or related to Advertiser’s breach of above representations and warranties.

2.4 Advertisers are responsible for approving Advertisements content and for keeping their contact details up to date. FREEWHEELING FRANCE will not be liable for any mistake or loss caused by error due to inaccuracies in the publishing of any Advertisement. It is the responsibility of the Advertiser to notify FREEWHEELING FRANCE immediately of any error in the Advertisement.

2.5 FREEWHEELING FRANCE shall not be liable for circumstances beyond its control that affect the ability of users to access Advertisements. This includes interrupted access to the website, technical malfunctioning of the user’s website, interruption of the service owing to technical problems with the Internet network, outside intrusion or computer viruses. 

2.6 FREEWHEELING FRANCE reserves the right to briefly suspend access to its website to necessitate maintenance work. Any technical interruptions shall not result in any compensation or discount. 

2.7 This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of France. It is available in both English and French translations.

Privacy Policy

Freewheeling France respects the privacy of all our users, and we are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Any information we collect about you from our newsletter, blogs, or via any social media tools will only be used for the purpose of informing you about the site and its developments, or for the purposes of improving the site and your user experience. We only collect email addresses and, when submitted voluntarily by users, names and locations.
